Back up and replicate your data across the US, Europe, or Asia and protect it from internal and external cyber-threats, natural disasters, and file corruption while meeting security, compliance, and RTO and RPO goals.
Eliminate disruptions because your customers won't tolerate them.
High Availability Infrastructure Use Cases
Extensive outages can result in loss of money, productivity, or business opportunities. Whether you are ensuring a reliable, always-on infrastructure for your own applications or your clients' workloads, high availability helps you avoid the adverse effects of downtime.
E-commerce
Even a second or two of downtime can affect customer retention and result in lost orders, smearing your brand reputation. Make sure your systems stay up and running even during flash sales, shopping seasons, and other predictable and unpredictable traffic spikes.
Finance
Unresponsive or poorly responsive platforms and apps can make end users worried about a solution's security and push them towards a competitor. Build customer trust and loyalty by keeping your databases and client and payment information safe and accessible.
Healthcare
Fast and reliable access to information can be vital to a patient's health, especially in emergency situations where downtime can have fatal consequences. An HA infrastructure helps you make electronic health records always and instantly available to your medical staff.
PaaS and SaaS providers
Critical applications or services deployed in production environments need to perform optimally and be fault-tolerant. Hosting your critical workloads on an HA infrastructure helps you meet contract SLAs and ensure client satisfaction in Day 2 operations.
Your business deserves more than a single point of failure.

Knowledge Base
What is a high availability solution?
A high availability (HA) solution is an IT infrastructure system designed to ensure consistent application or service performance and availability by reducing failures and downtime to a minimum. It encompasses redundant compute, storage, and network resources able to operate continuously for a designated period of time. A standard for this type of availability is commonly known as “five-nines availability”, which means that the solution ensures 99.999% of uptime for your systems or products.
Why do we need high availability solutions?
HA solutions protect organizations from losing revenue, reputation, customers, or staff performance when their critical apps or services are disrupted. The outages triggering such disruptions can be planned or unplanned. Planned outages involve hardware or software upgrades and maintenance, while unplanned can involve natural disasters, hardware failures, human errors, or cyber-attacks. High availability infrastructure enables business continuity during these disruptions and allows you to perform diagnostics and resolve issues while keeping your mission-critical services up and running.
What high availability solution is suitable for me?
While some applications need to be available 24/7/365, others might allow for a short outage window. To decide what type of highly available service you need, you should define your Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and your Recovery Point Objective (RPO). RTO specifies how long your infrastructure needs to be running continuously while RPO defines the points at which your data should be recovered from. In general, businesses tend to minimize the length of downtime and bring it as close to zero as possible. Less downtime means less impact on users and clients and optimal performance for your services. Managed service providers such as phoenixNAP can assist you in defining your infrastructure availability goals and choosing the right service to support them.
