VR Definition - What is Virtual Reality?

Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersive computer-simulated experience that features objects, scenes, and other sensory stimuli designed to appear to the user as if they existed in the real world. The user can interact with VR objects using special controllers, or by using their body and voice. Currently, available VR technology includes VR goggles, helmets, and entire rooms designed to provide an immersive experience. VR is popular in the video gaming industry, but it is also utilized in other types of entertainment, as well as in education and business. Some distinct types of VR include augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR).
