What Is a Passphrase?

A passphrase is a memorized secret comprising a sequence of words or text, serving as an authentication mechanism for identity verification. Similar to a password, it enhances security, but distinguishes itself by being notably longer. By combining multiple words, passphrases become more resilient against unauthorized access, reducing the risk of brute-force attacks.
