What is S HTTP (Secure HTTP)?

Secure hypertext transfer protocol (abbreviated S-HTTP or secure HTTP) is an application-level protocol used for secure online data transfer. Secure HTTP protects data integrity and confidentiality by adding encryption to web pages and providing mechanisms for digital message signatures and authentication.
