Open architecture is an architecture developed by using officially approved standards and protocols. The architecture designers made the specifications public so that anyone can use and modify the infrastructure.
The open software architecture allows different parties to remove, replace, or add new components using the same standards without limitations. Openness means that all the shared details can be viewed without the constraints of proprietary and closed systems. Linux with public source code is an example of an open architecture model.
