phoenixNAP Data Center Authorization

As a data center that follows strict security standards, phoenixNAP has successfully completed Arizona Security, Privacy, Risk & Authorization Management Program (AZRamp) Moderate Impact review. Within the review process, the company has submitted the necessary documentation that confirms its systems and internal policies are in line with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity framework. With this authorization, phoenixNAP can handle sensitive, public, and confidential data.

The review has been carried out for the following products/services:

How does AZRamp Work?

AZRamp focuses on Arizona-based cloud service providers, requiring them to provide evidence on security systems, procedures, and policies they use to ensure protection of sensitive and public data. Relying on the NIST framework, the program includes documentations outlining processes related to threat identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery. Only vendors with strict security systems and procedures in place are granted authorization to access, transmit, process, and/or store State of Arizona “Confidential” information.

This way AZRamp helps standardize the assessment process and ensure reliable cloud implementations.

Within the process, the vendors are required to provide documentation that they:

How does AZRamp Work? - One
Meet 35 basic controls to continue to bid on government projects or protect its data
How does AZRamp Work? - Two
Meet 125 basic controls to protect public data
How does AZRamp Work? - Three
Meet 325 basic controls to protect sensitive data

Standardizing Cloud Security

With cloud security being one of the critical requirements for modern businesses, Arizona Security, Privacy, Risk & Authorization Management Program (AZRamp) aims to provide a standardized approach to evaluating cloud vendors’ data protection systems and processes. Based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity framework, the program requires vendors to provide documentation showing they meet required controls to protect public and sensitive data.
